PRELIMINARY CHECKLIST OF FRESHWATER FISHES OF ULU PAIP ECO-PARK FOREST, KEDAH, PENINSULAR MALAYSIA

This report is the first on freshwater fishes of Ulu Paip Eco-Park Forest, Kedah, which aims to document fish species richness in this recreational forest. All were collected from main stream, Sungai Karangan, and its unnamed tributaries. In total, 20 10 families recorded. Cyprinidae most dominant family with six followed by Danionidae three species. Other contribute at least one each. Most recorded here are commonly found northern part Peninsular Malaysia. Further studies should be expected record more utilization various sampling gear such as electro fishing technique would able recordthe true area.
